Tiger Woods has acknowledged that due to back surgery in October, he will be taking a break from golf for an unspecified period. This recent surgery marks the seventh time Woods has had back surgery and the third major operation in the past two years, following surgeries on his Achilles and ankle.

Despite winning the Masters in 2019 after an 11-year gap, Woods has struggled to remain competitive due to recurring injuries. While he managed to host his annual Hero World Challenge golf tournament in the Bahamas, he acknowledges that his return to the sport will require significant time and effort.

In a light-hearted comment, Woods mentioned playing in numerous events across tours but then emphasized the need to focus on his recovery and return to playing before planning his schedule. He recently received clearance to resume chipping and putting after six weeks of limited activity post-disc replacement.

Looking ahead, Woods aims to surpass the all-time PGA tournament wins record of 82, currently shared with golf icon Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, noted that one of the biggest challenges for Woods in making a comeback is the physical demand of walking the course post-surgeries.
