A tragic incident occurred when an aircraft crashed into several trucks beside a highway in Fort Worth, Texas, resulting in the deaths of at least two individuals. Disturbing video footage circulating on social media captured a massive cloud of smoke rising from the crash site as emergency responders swiftly arrived on the scene on Sunday, October 12.

The identities of the deceased victims have not been revealed yet, and authorities are actively investigating the possible cause of this unfortunate event. The crash took place around 1:30 pm local time near Hicks Airfield, situated in a commercial area surrounded by small businesses and residential communities.

Lois Kinman, a spokesperson for the airfield, clarified that the aircraft involved was not based at Hicks Airfield. Various emergency teams from Tarrant County, Haslet, Lake Worth, Newark, Saginaw, Eagle Mountain, and Fort Worth promptly responded to the crash site.

Robbie Hoy, a public information officer for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, stated that the Federal Aviation Administration would lead the investigation into the incident. Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area to facilitate the ongoing response efforts, with images showing emergency vehicles blocking off the main roadway.

The aircraft has been identified as a Beechcraft King Air C90, although the exact number of passengers onboard during the crash remains unclear. Witness accounts, such as that of Lauren Anderson, a cashier at a nearby store, described seeing a large black smoke cloud and a flurry of emergency vehicles in the vicinity following the crash.

Despite the initial chaos, Anderson noted that the area seemed to return to a semblance of normalcy after the smoke dissipated. However, the lingering impact of the event left a disconcerting feeling among residents. The Mirror US reached out to the Fort Worth Fire Department for further details on the incident.
