A mystery tower spotted at the top secret Area 51 site on Google Earth has launched terrifying “alien technology” claims from worried social media users. The highly classified 2.3 million acre US Air Force base – where the public is forbidden to visit – has been shrouded in secrecy for decades but the latest discovery has ramped up conspiracy theories.
A triangle tower creating a long shadow was surprisingly spotted on Google Maps and snapped by curious online viewers. The bizarre installation has not been removed by Google yet and can be found by entering the coordinates 37°14’46.5″N 115°49’24.0″W into the engine.
The sci-fi like structure, in the middle of the Nevada desert, was quickly circulated online along with bizarre ideas and theories into what the installation could be. Reddit users were quick to share their outlandish ideas about the triangular building.
The military sites secrecy has made it a breeding ground for alien and extraterrestrial conspiracy theories, with many people thinking the remote location is to keep something hidden.
One person said: “Obviously alien technology. It pops out when the Earth is done.” Another Redditor jumped on the alien theme and said: “It’s where the aliens test their various white powders.”
A Facebook user has likened the structure to a film classic. They wrote: “A Monolith just like in 2001 a Space Oddessy.”
Other curious Facebook users added more theories to the ever-growing alien conspiracy. One social media user wrote: “Marker for aliens it is safe to land here.” Another called it a ” UFO charging dock”.
The bizarre discovery also prompted jokes about the mystery site and tower. A Facebooker called it “a new version of Jenga” and another person joked by saying it was like a “Toblerone trade center”.
Area 51 has long been host to predictions as well as crazy theories about the remote base. One soothsayer dubbed the “living Nostradamus ” previously shared a chilling idea.
Athos Salomé claimed an underground portal would open below Area 51. He said: “There is a tunnel below ground level in the Area, leading to a three-dimensional portal.”
He added: “This portal would be able to transport people between space/time dimensions. There is a tunnel that leads to another place and this access is what everyone wants to play God or gods.”
Despite this, Athos’ scary theory has not come to light and the supposed underground portal has not been confirmed. Area 51 has been a hotspot for sci-fi theories and extraterrestrial enthusiasts since otherworldly reports from Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947.
The remote location is the site of an alleged UFO crash and has now become a pilgrimage for alien hunters and enthusiasts.
