A mother of a two-year-old boy who was fatally attacked by dogs has shared her harrowing experience upon returning home from work. The tragic incident occurred in the backyard of Stacy Wheeler Cobb, 48, where the lifeless body of Kaimir Jones was discovered around 3:45 pm on Saturday, October 4th.

Adrianna Jones, the mother of the victim, revealed that her intuition led her to leave work early and check on her son after not receiving any updates from the childminder for an extended period. In a statement on GoFundMe, she described the heart-wrenching and traumatic scene she encountered upon finding her child in such a state.

The childminder, based in Georgia, was taken into custody for operating an unlicensed daycare. Reports indicate that her rottweilers were responsible for the tragic death of the toddler while she was asleep. Despite being highly recommended, the childminder failed to prevent the incident where the boy wandered out of the house, accidentally unlocked the kennel, and encountered the aggressive dogs.

Authorities confirmed that Kaimir was the sole child under the care of Cobb that day, although the daycare typically accommodated up to 10 children. Cobb claimed she believed the child was safe during her brief nap. The Valdosta Police Department expressed condolences to the grieving family and condemned the negligence that led to the child’s untimely death.

Cobb now faces charges of second-degree murder and cruelty to children. The dogs involved in the attack, along with another canine found at Cobb’s residence, were handed over to the Lowndes County Animal Control. Animal behavior experts emphasize the importance of supervision when children are around unfamiliar dogs and recommend safety measures to prevent such tragedies.
