Sky is set to merge Sky Cinema Animation with Sky Cinema Family, consolidating the two services into one starting April 30. This move aims to streamline the channel list by offering a unified platform for family-friendly movies on channel 304. Viewers can look forward to accessing a variety of popular titles such as the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in a single location.
Despite the consolidation resulting in one less channel, Sky reassures customers that all content previously available on Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family. In a positive twist for fans of Sky Cinema Animation, the standalone channel will make a temporary return during school holidays to cater to young audiences. The channel will be available from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.
In addition to this channel merger, Sky has ventured into the home security market by introducing new smart devices. Customers can opt for the Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 per month with a £15 upfront fee, offering features like full HD video recording and two-way audio. For enhanced functionalities, Sky also offers a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 per month and a £20 upfront cost, including an indoor camera and advanced app controls.
Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing accessible premium smart technology that focuses on essential customer features while ensuring simplicity, ease of use, and affordability.
