The Windsor Police Service has announced the arrest of a 27-year-old man for impaired driving following a car collision with a house. Responding to a call near Malden Road on Armanda Street around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, officers discovered the vehicle on the front lawn of the property, its front bumper in contact with the front steps. The driver, who remained inside the vehicle, exhibited signs of impairment such as red, glossy eyes, slurred speech, unsteadiness, and drowsiness.
After observing these indicators, the police arrested the driver and transported him to the Windsor police headquarters. A subsequent breath test revealed a blood alcohol level exceeding twice the legal limit, leading to the man being charged with impaired driving. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident, although the house sustained over $10,000 in damages.
