In her first appearance for Vancouver, Alex Lamontagne netted two goals as the visiting Rise dominated the second half to defeat the league-leading Ottawa Rapid 5-1 in a Northern Super League match in Ottawa on Saturday. Anna Bout, Maithe Lopez, and Camila Reyes, who converted a penalty shot, also found the net for the Rise. They scored three goals within a 10-minute span early in the second half and comfortably secured the victory at TD Place. Elise Bell scored a consolation goal for the Rapid in the 82nd minute.

Following this win, the Rise climbed to fourth place in the league standings, one point ahead of the Halifax Tide. The team now boasts seven wins, one draw, and nine losses, totaling 22 points. Meanwhile, the Rapid, with 33 points, maintain their lead at the top of the table, three points ahead of the Montreal Roses. The Rapid’s record stands at 10 wins, four losses, and three draws.

The Rise held a slight edge in possession (53% to 47%) and outshot the home team 17-8, with 11 shots on target compared to the Rapid’s 3. Vancouver also earned four of the game’s seven corner kicks, and both teams received two yellow cards.
