Two individuals lost their lives immediately after a tragic accident involving the SUV in which Anthony Joshua was traveling, as reported by witnesses. Joshua sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital in Nigeria, while his vehicle, accompanied by security personnel, collided with a stationary truck near Makun on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun state.
The incident occurred when Joshua’s vehicle swerved due to a burst tire, causing a loss of control. Local authorities, including the Ogun state traffic compliance and enforcement agency, are investigating the crash, confirming Joshua’s involvement.
Eyewitness Adeniyi Orojo recounted that the convoy comprised a Lexus SUV and a Pajero SUV, with Joshua seated behind the driver alongside another passenger. Following the crash, rescue efforts were initiated by onlookers who flagged down passing vehicles for assistance. Sadly, two occupants of the Lexus, including the passenger beside the driver and the person beside Joshua, passed away at the scene.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, revealed that he was unaware of the accident until contacted by Mirror Sport while on vacation in the Caribbean. Hearn indicated that Joshua was safe and en route to the hospital, lacking further details.
