Alanis Morissette has filed a lawsuit against her former tour manager, accusing her of attempting to extort her by threatening to frame her for drug trafficking unless she agreed to a lengthy contract. The lawsuit alleges that Keren Urinov demanded massive compensation and a 15-year employment contract as a tour director, or else she would report Morissette to British authorities.

Urinov, previously associated with Live Nation’s Israeli operations, was hired as a temporary tour manager for Morissette’s world tour in 2025. During a trip from the U.K. to Spain, Urinov was arrested at the airport after a bag containing marijuana and xylazine was flagged by British authorities. Although she was released after showing her Israeli medical marijuana license, she was detained again the next day for questioning.

Following the tour, Urinov allegedly sent a series of threatening letters to Morissette, demanding the contract and threatening legal action if Morissette did not comply. The lawsuit also highlights instances where Urinov’s management of the tour was deemed inadequate, including costly errors and undisclosed criminal history. Morissette stated that she felt compelled to sue to expose Urinov’s scheme and seek accountability.

Morissette emphasized that she would not succumb to coercion and is seeking legal recourse to address the situation. The lawsuit reveals startling revelations about Urinov’s past actions and asserts Morissette’s stance against working with an incompetent individual under duress. Morissette has requested a trial by jury, while further responses from Urinov and Morissette’s representatives are pending.
