The controversy surrounding Page’s casting as a trans man in The Odyssey was fueled by individuals like Ben Shapiro, Megyn Kelly, and Elon Musk, who stirred up unnecessary controversy on social media. However, it was later clarified that Page was not playing the role of Achilles, putting an end to the baseless speculation.

In 2020, he publicly came out as transgender, becoming an advocate for the 2SLGBTQ+ community and speaking out against discriminatory legislation in the U.S. and Canada.
