Drop star Meghann Fahy’s ‘fearless’ breakout drama can be streamed completely for free

Must read

If you’ve already been taken on a ride by Meghann Fahy’s new thriller, Drop, you should take this opportunity to revisit one of her most iconic breakout roles.

The Emmy-nominated The White Lotus star portrays Violet in the new thriller Drop, which hit cinemas this Friday (11th April).

Violet, a young, widowed mother, reluctantly agrees to a blind date with Henry (played by Brandon Sklenar) and is relieved when the first man she’s seen in years is far more charming than she expected.

However, their evening at a high-rise restaurant soon turns deadly when Violet begins to receive a series of unpleasant anonymous drops to her phone which traps her in a sinister game of cat and mouse.

Horror fans have already devoured the pulse-pounding new thriller, but where can you see other notable performances from lead actress Fahy?

You don’t need to look any further than BBC iPlayer, as the free streaming service currently has all five seasons of her breakout comedy-drama series, The Bold Type, available at no extra cost.

Her first main role in a long-running series, Fahy portrayed fashion assistant Sutton Brady in the hit Freeform series, which followed a trio of women who all work at the popular Scarlet magazine.

Sutton navigates modern womanhood in New York City along with her best friends, Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens) and Kat Edison (Aisha Dee), under the tutelage of Scarlet’s legendary editor, Jacqueline Carlyle (Melora Hardin).

Originally airing on Freeform between 2017-2021, fans now have the chance to revisit the series completely for free or discover The Bold Type trio’s stylish adventures for the first time.

The series has been overwhelmingly awarded five stars by fans rating it on Google reviews, so it’s not one to miss.

One die-hard follower wrote: “The Bold Type is practically family at this point. I love love this series.

“From the creative costume design, writing, music and VFX aesthetics, this show is perfect in every way. It’s the kind of show you’re willing to wait a year for a new release.”

Someone else raved: “Quickly became one of my favourite shows. Hitting on a wide variety of issues in today’s social and political climate, this show was a breath of fresh air.

“Its honesty and fearlessness was something I really needed in my life. I hadn’t had these kinds of leading ladies on show in quite some time and it has been really nice following their lives, watching them evolve as women, as friends, and as human beings.”

And a final fan recommended: “This show is incredible. It highlights so many issues in today’s society, shows balanced arguments and makes you think about things you often wouldn’t.

“The show is perfectly written, the actors give an impeccable performance really portraying their character to the fullest.

“Every episode is fun, surprising and clever. The fashion is exquisite.”

If you’ve fallen in love with Fahy’s roles in Drop, The White Lotus and Netflix’s The Perfect Couple over the past few years, make sure you check out her star-making turn in The Bold Type.

The Bold Type is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
