England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has become a father for the third time after his wife Megan gave birth to a baby daughter. The happy couple took to Instagram to share the news, posting a series of pictures with their newborn, Misty Celine Pickford.
“And just like that Ostara has been promoted to Queen,” they captioned the post. “Welcome to the world our new little princess, Misty Celine Pickford – our hearts just doubled in size.”
Jordan and Megan are childhood sweethearts who tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, before celebrating with a much more lavish ceremony in July 2022 once restrictions had been lifted.
The couple are already parents to son Arlo, who is five years old, and 19-month-old daughter Ostara. Pickford’s club Everton were among those to congratulate them on the new addition to the family, commenting: “Congratulations to you all”.
Jack Grealish’s partner Sasha Atwood wrote: “Another Pickford to love Milas future bestie, love you guys we can’t wait to meet her xxxxxx”. Erin Borini, the wife of Pickford’s former Sunderland team-mate Fabio Borini, added: “Can’t wait to meet her. So happy for you all.”
Ollie Watkins’ wife Ellie wrote: “Omg congratulations hope you’re doing well xxxx”. Harry Kane’s wife Kate simply commented: “Beautiful”.
Dani Dyer, who is engaged to Jarrod Bowen and the daughter of actor Danny Dyer, added: “Oh how perfect!!! Congratulations to you both”. Harry Maguire’s wife Fern wrote: “So beautiful”.
Pickford recently became the joint second-most capped England goalkeeper after surpassing World Cup winner Gordon Banks and drawing level with David Seaman and Joe Hart after playing in both of Thomas Tuchel’s first games in charge.
Pickford has earned 75 caps for the Three Lions so far and wants to become just the second goalkeeper to reach 100 after Peter Shilton. “Every time I have pulled on an England shirt, I have always performed, I have always stepped up to the plate,” he said last month.
“I have always taken it in my stride. And at club level, I’ve been very consistent over four or five years now. I’m learning about the game more and have more maturity.
“When I first came on the scene, I was that young 23-year-old keeper learning his trade. Now I’ve learnt it, it’s about maintaining it and how can I improve each day and be consistent over a number of games. And I think I’ve done that.
“And I think that is why I am level with Gordon Banks and two more caps until I match Joe Hart and David Seaman and I have always looked up to Harty, he was the number one what I was a young kid and I’ve always wanted to be Joe Hart so it will be a great honour to get those two caps and push forward and get ahead of them.”
