Big Brother fans are calling for ITV to get rid of housemate Mickey Rourke after his offensive comments towards JoJo Siwa.
During tonight’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, Mickey was seen asking the Karma singer about her sexuality before making cruel digs. The actor was given a formal warning by Big Brother, but fans think they should have gone a step further, removing him all together.
Mickey asked JoJo: “Do you like girls or boys?” as she revealed her partner was non-binary. Later on, Mickey asked if everyone has to vote one another out of the house. He then said: “I’m going to vote the lesbian out real quick.” JoJo, who overheard, then said: “That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning.”
In another shocking moment, Mickey could be heard saying he “needed a fag,” before gesturing to JoJo and saying, “I’m not talking to you.” The comment disgusted fans and housemates, and left JoJo in tears.
Following his remarks, the star was called into the Diary Room and given a formal warning by Big Brother. He was warned further language or behaviour of this nature could lead to him being removed from the house – but fans weren’t impressed.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one penned: “how is this just a formal warning? it’s repeated, disgusting, homophobia. shame on itv for not taking this more seriously. he should not be on tv.” Another disgusted fan wrote: “Feel like that was more than enough for Mickey to be removed already if I’m honest.”
“Big Brother is such a pushover #CBBUK,” wrote a third disappointed fan, as a fourth said: “”RUN TO OFCOM GUYS. SERIOUSLY Get this guy out #cbbuk“.
Asked if he had anything to say after his warning, Mickey responded: “I apologise. I don’t have dishonourable intentions – I’m just talking smack you know. I wasn’t taking it all so serious. I didn’t mean in it any bad intentions and if I did, sorry.”
JoJo was then called into the Diary Room as Big Brother asked how she was doing. She revealed she was okay, and had great friends in the house. Later on, Danny Beard was also seen having a word with Mickey, as he revealed he didn’t agree with how things went down.
Later on in the show, JoJo was asked to reveal who she wanted to give her killer nomination to. Unsurprisingly, she chose to nominate Mickey after his remarks earlier in the day – meaning he’ll be up for the first eviction.
