Wynne Evans has broken his social media silence after a video was reportedly unearthed showing him “gifting” his Strictly Come Dancing co-star Jamie Borthwick a sex toy. According to reports, the pair were warned by BBC bosses over the clip, which was shared in the Strictly WhatsApp group among the celebrity contestants from last year’s series.
Posting to Instagram on Sunday afternoon, Wynne posted story showing a photo of a garden from the vantage point of an ice bath. He wrote: “Ice bath view. Love to you all #mentalhealth.”
The Sun reported that EastEnders star Jamie, 30, received the crude item from the Welsh Opera singer, 53, as a joke. It was then brandished backstage during the Strictly live tour.
The clip is thought to have been filmed just two days after Wynne was recorded making a vile sexual comment to Jamie about pro dancer Janette Manrara. Shortly after, Wynne was axed from the live tour.
The offensive footage is believed to have been shared with the celebrity contestants in the Strictly Come Dancing WhatsApp group.
A source said: “As soon as BBC executives were made aware of this shocking and immature footage being shared they formally addressed the issue and reminded the pair they had to act professionally.”
Speaking to The Sun, the source added: “The men were acting extremely immaturely and inappropriately, considering it was a family show, and many cast members didn’t share their crass sense of humour.
“Bosses were horrified and shocked, hoping to nip the issue in the bud, unaware the video had been shared more widely.”

In the footage, which was obtained by The Sun, EastEnders actor Jamie explains the toy was sent to Birmingham’s Utilita Arena reception by Wynne. He holds up the toy before turning the camera to show fellow contestant Wynne practising topless with Neil Jones.
In the clip, Jamie says: “Look at what he bought me. I opened it up and he surprised me with this, didn’t he. It’s so funny.”
A source went on to tell the publication that the duo were often “playing pranks” on each other. “Jamie giggles about it like a naughty schoolboy,” they said. “They thought it was hilarious but others didn’t.”
Wynne made an “unacceptable” sexual comment about Janette Manrara at the press launch of the Strictly Live tour in Birmingham.
As the unsuspecting dancer stood between Wynne and EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick, Wynne was filmed suggesting a threesome with the pair, using the offensive term “spit roast”.
Wynne recently vowed to fight his axing from Strictly. He insisted “truth wins” in a rare update since leaving the tour.
The GoCompare star is reportedly planning to take action and seek “recompense” due to the dire consequences of his ongoing scandal. His situation reportedly got even worse last months amid reports he’s lost his lucrative advert deal with GoCompare that he has held since 2009.
He does have some supporters, however. Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones, who was paired with him on the 2024 series, described him as “incredible” in a new interview.
Speaking to The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, she said: “I can only obviously speak from my personal experience, but I thought Wynne was incredible. We spent a huge amount of time together and we had a brilliant partnership. We got on like a house on fire.”
Last month it was reported he could soon be back on screen as bookmakers slash the odds of him appearing on this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. Wynne is being heavily tipped for a stint in the jungle when the popular ITV reality series returns in November. It would see Wynne switch from BBC reality series to the long-running ITV show.
