Must read

Coachella has hit the ground running for its 2025 extravaganza, bringing top-tier artists and ultra-glamorous VIPs to the Californian desert. Kicking off with Lady Gaga’s electric opening night performance, here’s what you’ve missed so far from one of the globe’s most celebrated music festivals.

Friday marked the launch of Coachella in Indio, headlined by none other than pop powerhouse Lady Gaga. Gaga enthusiasts faced a daunting 12-hour wait to enter the pyramid arena, but the persistence seemed to pay off, with glowing reviews flooding in. One fan ecstatically claimed: “this deserves a grammy in itself idgaf.”

Another fan gushed online: “Lady Gaga absolutely devoured her opening to Coachella with Bloody Mary, Abracadabra, Judas & Scheiße this was more amazing then anything I could imagined.”

A third joined the chorus of praise, stating: “oh lady gaga easily one of the best headliners in coachella history.”

The festival crowd, swept up in the moment, affectionately coined the term “GAGACHELLA” with devotees asserting: “lady gaga… you might have just taken that #1 spot for best coachella performance of all time #GAGACHELLA.”

South African sensation Tyla wowed the crowd, weaving in iconic tunes from the much-missed R&B royalty Aaliyah, making her Coachella appearance an unforgettable one. The Push 2 Start artist shared the spotlight with fellow musician Becky G during her debut performance at the festival.

Rock fans also got a slice of nostalgia as Benson Boone put his spin on Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, accompanied by Brian May himself on guitar — May radiantly defying his recent health scare.

At 77 years young, the legendary Queen guitarist Brian May has shared that he had a bit of a scare back in September, having to be whisked off to hospital due to a medical emergency. But the rock icon looked the picture of health as he posed with rising star Benson Boone, aged just 22.

Billie Joe Armstrong, the effervescent frontman of Green Day, rocked out with The Go-Gos delivering an electrifying rendition of their 1984 hit Head Over Heels at the festival. Green Day fans are also in for a treat as they’re set to top the bill tonight in Indio.

In typical grand Missy Elliot style, the hip-hop queen hit the stage as only she could – featuring an enormous inflatable of her own head and even an alien spacecraft!

Treating fans to a blast from the past with her 55-minute set, it was clear that folks were thrilled by her long-awaited return. Anticipation built up as Missy teased on her socials, saying “The Spaceship & a few Aliens bout to show up.”

As always, the festival is a hotspot for celeb sightings, among them White Lotus actor Patrick Schwarzenegger who showed up to cheer on co-star LISA during her performance. Meanwhile, his fellow White Lotus cast member Tayme Thapthimthong couldn’t look more different from his character’s uniform as he chilled out in chic black shades and a stylish jacket.

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson, currently loved-up with reality TV alum Zara McDermott, soaked in the festival vibes solo, easily spotted by eagle-eyed fans among the throngs dressed in his unique cream sleeveless tee and brown and white striped shorts.

And don’t forget: tomorrow’s festivities will feature Britain’s very own Charli XCX and punk veterans The Original Misfits strutting their stuff on stage, with a 50 minute, what is we’re sure will be a iconic performance, from Megan Stallion.
