Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien has put on a brave face amid her reported split from husband Adam Crofts. The 41-year-old actress, known for playing Sarah Platt on the ITV soap, was snapped on Saturday as she stepped out for a shopping trip at Waitrose.
Mum of two Tina was spotted rocking a chic ankle-length beige trench coat layered over a white lace top, paired with blue cropped jeans and classic white Converse pumps – proving comfort and style go hand in hand.
She kept her accessories low-key with a pair of oversized tinted sunglasses and a white bow in her hair. The soap star was seen climbing into her sleek red Jaguar SUV while clutching a fresh bouquet of flowers and a card, as shown in Daily Mail pictures.
Tina and Adam, 39, a personal trainer, reportedly ended their relationship three months ago after growing apart. A source shed light on what led to the couple’s quiet split, revealing that Tina and Adam have chosen to go their separate ways after drifting apart. While the two are said to remain on good terms for the sake of their 10-year-old son, Beau, insiders say their contrasting lifestyles ultimately created distance between them.
A source told The Sun: “Tina and Adam have ended their relationship and are spending some time apart. They moved house at Christmas and have decided to live separately for the time being.
They added: “Adam and Tina lead very different lives – he is really into his fitness, while she really enjoys going out with her mates and having a dance, which just isn’t for him.”
O’Brien was previously in a high-profile relationship with Corrie co-star Ryan Thomas. They got together in 2003 but split in 2009 and share a daughter, Scarlett, who was born in October 2008.
However, the star hasn’t been letting her split dampen her mood as she was spotted letting her hair down and partying with friends amid her split.
Tina and Adam’s love story began in 2011 when Scarlett approached Adam in a Starbucks, leading to their first conversation. Recalling the romantic tale in 2017, Tina said the toddler had innocently approached Adam, triggering their first exchange. She gushed at the time: “He was working on his computer, and Scarlett went over and said: ‘Hello, man.’ He told us his name was Adam and we got talking.”
Adam later proposed to the actress in 2016 before they exchanged vows in 2018. They tied the knot at the King Street Townhouse in Manchester on New Year’s Eve that year, surrounded by loved ones and several of Tina’s Coronation Street colleagues. They later welcomed their only son together in December 2014.
