Donald Trump has not been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, but has gained support from Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the Gaza ceasefire agreement. Putin expressed optimism about the historic significance of the deal between Israel and Hamas, praising Trump for his involvement in achieving it.
Following the announcement of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado was recognized for her dedication to advancing democratic rights in her country. Despite claims by Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump’s supporters that Trump should have received the award, Machado was honored for her efforts.
Putin refrained from commenting directly on Machado’s win but criticized previous Nobel Committee decisions, suggesting that some recipients had not contributed significantly to global peace. He mentioned that quick awarding of the prize, such as in the case of Barack Obama in 2009, had damaged the prize’s prestige.
In discussions with reporters, Putin commended Trump’s involvement in resolving longstanding conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine. Trump reciprocated the praise on his social media platform, acknowledging Putin’s recognition of his efforts. Additionally, Putin mentioned ongoing dialogues with Trump on addressing the conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of continued discussions to reach a resolution.
