A British family of four who recently moved from the UK to Florida is sharing their mixed experiences of adjusting to life in the United States. While they appreciate the warm evenings and scenic views in their new home, they have also encountered several challenges.

In a recent TikTok video, Emily highlighted “10 things we don’t like since we moved from the UK to Florida.” Among her concerns are the lack of privacy in public bathroom stalls due to visible gaps, the limited use of WhatsApp compared to texting, and the aggressive driving behavior of Florida motorists.

The family has also been approached by multiple solicitors at their doorstep, prompting Emily to consider putting up a sign to deter them. Additionally, she expressed frustration with the slow gas pumps at filling stations, the delayed arrival of mail, the abundance of bugs at night, and encountering snakes on their property.

Emily also mentioned the complexity of the healthcare system, citing excessive paperwork as a challenge they are working to navigate. Despite these obstacles, she emphasized that moving to Florida has been a positive decision overall, stating, “Ignoring those 10 things, it’s still the best thing we have ever done and we love our life out here.”
