Fern Britton recently shared her weight loss journey, highlighting that it was not only for her benefit but also for her four children. The former This Morning presenter reportedly lost an impressive five stone by revamping her lifestyle and reevaluating her eating habits.

Over the past few years, Fern has quit smoking, taken up running with the Couch to 5k app, and made significant changes to her diet to improve her overall health and energy levels.

Her weight loss journey was initially motivated by a practical need in 2023 when she underwent shoulder surgery and wanted to be in top shape beforehand. This decision marked a positive turning point in her life, and she expressed pride in her accomplishments, emphasizing that it’s not just about size but about feeling good.

Fern stressed the importance of maintaining good health for her children, aiming to stay fit so they won’t have to worry about her and to enjoy this stage of life. While uncertain about the future, she finds it both daunting and liberating.

As a mother of four grown children, Fern has been open about her health struggles over the years. In her memoir, she reflected on being advised to undergo gastric band surgery in 2006 when she was reportedly a size 22. Despite initial success, she found subsequent years challenging, noting the ease with which unhealthy foods could pass through the gastric band.

This time around, Fern opted for a different approach, focusing on fitness, protein-rich meals, and healthier snacks. Fans have taken notice of her transformation, showering her with compliments online, especially during the promotion of her latest book, A Cornish Legacy.

Fern’s dedication to her health and well-being is evident in her lifestyle changes, which have not only impacted her appearance but also her overall vitality.
