There was commotion on a Sun Country Airlines flight from Minneapolis to Newark when a passenger wearing multiple face masks started shouting about gay people causing him harm and claiming the plane was going to crash. The disruptive incident led to the aircraft making an unscheduled landing due to the unruly behavior of the passenger.
Witness Seth Evans, who was seated nearby, recounted that the disruptive behavior started as soon as the flight began, with the passenger making alarming statements about being pursued by gay individuals. The passenger, donning more than 15 face masks, continued to yell about being affected by radiation from gays and accusing them of causing his cancer. Additionally, he sporadically mentioned the presence of “Trump” amidst his outbursts.
Evans mentioned that in between his outbursts, the passenger played a game on his mobile device before resuming his disruptive behavior by shouting loudly. Upon landing at O’Hare International Airport, the disruptive passenger was apprehended by Chicago police and removed from the plane after passengers were questioned by US Marshals.
Sun Country Airlines confirmed that the flight landed safely, the disruptive passenger was handed over to authorities, and the other passengers’ cooperation during the disruption was appreciated. This incident comes after another disruptive event on a Jet2 flight where a drunken passenger caused chaos, leading to the flight being diverted after spitting on another traveler.
