An emergency landing was required by a plane due to a passenger who was reported to be wearing an excessive amount of face masks, around 15, and started shouting about LGBTQ individuals causing him cancer. The incident occurred on a US domestic flight that had to divert its route after the passenger engaged in disruptive behavior, including proclaiming “Trump is here” during a mid-air rampage.

The flight, traveling from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Newark, New Jersey, had to make an unscheduled stop. Witnesses mentioned that the man began yelling about the aircraft crashing and making derogatory remarks about the LGBTQ community. The decision to return the plane to the ground was made as a precautionary measure in response to the unruly passenger, as stated by a spokesperson from Sun Country Airlines to The Minnesota Star Tribune.

One of the passengers, Seth Evans, shared his experience of sitting near the unidentified individual who was adorned with multiple medical masks. Chaos erupted as the flight departed from Minneapolis, with the man sporadically shouting about being affected by the LGBTQ community’s actions.

The disruptive passenger went on to allege being pursued and harmed by LGBTQ individuals, attributing his cancer to their actions. The situation escalated further when he mentioned “the plane is going down,” leading to the flight being redirected to Chicago, where the passenger was restrained and removed by local law enforcement.

Following the incident, the aircraft remained stationary on the tarmac, with passengers instructed to stay seated while authorities questioned them. Sun Country Airlines later confirmed that the flight proceeded to Newark after the disruptive passenger was handed over to law enforcement.

The FBI has taken over the case for further investigation. This incident occurred shortly after a separate incident where a woman had to be duct-taped to her seat on a Las Vegas-bound flight after making alarming statements about poisoning her father, reported the United States Attorney’s Office District of Nevada.
