Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices as the UK TV platform has initiated an update impacting the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has announced that certain broadcasters are implementing changes this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.

The recent update includes four notable changes. Three existing channels have been rebranded with new names, visible when browsing through the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, showcasing music from past decades and featuring iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, and That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply That’s Classics.

In addition to the rebrands, a new channel named That’s Entertainment is set to launch on Channel 75. While specific program listings are not widely available yet, more information is expected soon.

Freeview emphasizes that these updates are part of ongoing adjustments by broadcasters to maintain varied and up-to-date content offerings. Users with Freeview should observe these changes reflected in the TV planner; if not, a retune may be required by following these steps:

1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. Your device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.

Although Freeview updates occur regularly, this latest update is significant, underscoring the importance of retuning sooner rather than later.
