A toddler, aged two, has passed away in a hospital after being discovered unresponsive at a nursery facility. The incident occurred at Parbold Douglas Church of England Academy in Parbold, located in West Lancashire, around 2:45 pm on a Friday. Authorities in Lancashire stated that the child was transported to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to the situation despite the efforts of medical staff.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the toddler’s demise is not under suspicion. Lancashire Police extended their condolences to the family of the child following the tragic incident. A spokesperson mentioned that emergency services were alerted to the situation at Lancaster Lane, Parbold, at 2:43 pm on the 19th of September when reports came in about the child’s health emergency at the school.
The family’s privacy request was noted as the investigation is not treating the death as suspicious, and details will be forwarded to HM Coroner in due time. This tragic event follows a similar occurrence earlier in the year when another two-year-old boy lost his life in January after an incident at Early Learners Day Nursery in Bootle.
Upon experiencing a medical crisis, the child was swiftly taken for medical attention but was tragically pronounced dead shortly after. Parents were informed of the situation, and the nursery decided to close for a week in response. Authorities announced the commencement of an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Merseyside Police confirmed that the child had a medical episode at the nursery and was rushed to the hospital, where efforts to save him were unsuccessful. An ongoing investigation is aimed at understanding the full details and cause of death, which is currently categorized as unexplained.
