A teacher, Maddison Bergmann, was observed crying in court while admitting to engaging in inappropriate behavior with an 11-year-old student. Bergmann pleaded guilty to child enticement and sexual misconduct charges after sending numerous explicit messages to the student over several months. Additional charges, such as first-degree sexual assault and using a computer for illegal activities, were dropped as part of a plea agreement.

The misconduct came to light when the student’s mother overheard their conversations with Bergmann, which included discussions about physical encounters at school. School resource officer Traci Hall revealed that over 33,000 messages were exchanged between Bergmann and the student, many of which were sexually explicit.

Following the discovery of the inappropriate messages, Bergmann was arrested, leading to the cancellation of her upcoming wedding. Despite the defense claiming that the charges were exaggerated, the judge found sufficient evidence to proceed with the case. Bergmann is scheduled to be sentenced on December 22.
