Wireless earbuds have advanced in their ability to block out surrounding noise effectively. While this is beneficial for many, some individuals prefer not to feel completely isolated. Open-ear headphones provide a unique solution by offering high-quality audio while allowing users to stay connected to their environment.

Shokz, a pioneer in wireless audio technology for over a decade, has recently launched the OpenDots 2 earbuds, expanding its product range. Unlike conventional earbuds that fit inside the ear canal, the OpenDots 2 attach gently to the ear, utilizing built-in speakers and bone-conduction technology to deliver immersive sound without compromising awareness of the surroundings.

Featuring a flexible nickel-titanium JointArc frame, the earbuds adjust naturally to various ear shapes, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit for extended wear. The open-ear design enables users to maintain awareness of conversations, traffic, and other important sounds during activities like running, commuting, or working in a busy office setting.

Despite their lightweight and open construction, the OpenDots 2 come equipped with premium features. Enhanced Dolby Audio support enhances sound quality, while touch controls allow for easy management of music playback and calls without the need to access a phone. The earbuds boast impressive battery performance, providing up to 10 hours of listening on a single charge, with additional power available through the compact charging case.

For calls, AI-powered noise reduction minimizes background distractions, ensuring clear voice transmission even in noisy environments. With an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance, the earbuds are suitable for various activities, including intense workouts and exposure to different weather conditions.

The Shokz OpenDots 2 are currently available for purchase at £179. Additionally, Shokz has introduced the more budget-friendly OpenDots Air priced at £129, offering up to nine hours of battery life, a comfortable design, water resistance, and seamless multi-device connectivity. Both models can be purchased from retailers such as Argos and Amazon.
