Sarah Ferguson has been removed as a patron of a children’s hospice due to a recently uncovered email where she referred to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as a “supreme friend.” The email, dated April 26, 2011, was sent shortly after Ferguson publicly stated she would sever ties with Epstein. In the message, Ferguson apologized to Epstein for associating him with paedophilia in the media and praised him as “steadfast” and “generous.”

Following the revelation of this email by The Sun, Ferguson’s spokesperson explained that the email was an attempt to pacify Epstein and his threats, as advised to her. In a previous interview in March 2011, Ferguson expressed remorse for accepting money from Epstein, condemning paedophilia and promising to distance herself from him in the future.

Reports indicate that a month later, Ferguson sent another apologetic email to Epstein, expressing fear and regret for not responding to him earlier. She acknowledged him as a loyal and supportive friend, expressing her distress over the situation and her decision to cut off contact with him to avoid causing further problems.

Due to the nature of Ferguson’s correspondence with Epstein, Julia’s House, a children’s hospice in Dorset and Wiltshire, decided to revoke her patronage. The charity stated that it would be inappropriate for Ferguson to remain in her position given the circumstances. Ferguson’s spokesperson mentioned that Epstein had threatened to sue her for defamation, prompting her to publicly denounce him and cut off all communication upon learning the extent of the allegations against him.

Epstein, who was awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges, was found dead in his jail cell in Manhattan in August 2019, with his death ruled as a suicide. Ferguson’s spokesperson reiterated her stance against Epstein and clarified that the email in question was sent under advisement to address Epstein’s threats.
