Ryan Garcia has expressed skepticism about the likelihood of Jake Paul’s upcoming heavyweight bout against Anthony Joshua taking place. The anticipated match, set for December 19 in Miami, is expected to feature eight three-minute rounds with both fighters wearing 10oz gloves. Paul, who last fought in June with a decision victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, had to cancel a recent fight with Gervonta Davis due to legal issues. Joshua, on the other hand, has been inactive since suffering a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024. Despite meeting at a recent press conference, Garcia doubts the fight will happen due to size differences between the two fighters.

The clash between Joshua and Paul is scheduled to be live-streamed on Netflix on December 19, coinciding with the holiday season. Following Garcia’s doubts, Paul responded by criticizing Garcia’s own recent fights. Paul had initially sought to fight Davis but ended up targeting other boxing stars after the cancellation. The streaming service DAZN declined to allow Garcia to switch platforms for the fight, hinting at their belief in the potential outcomes of the Joshua vs. Paul matchup.

The much-anticipated fight between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul in Miami will occur on December 19, with a likely start time of 11pm local time, translating to 4am in the UK. The event will be available for viewing on Netflix as part of Sky’s £15 Essential TV bundle.
