President Donald Trump’s physician provided a significant update following the President’s recent medical examination. Concerns about the 79-year-old President’s health have arisen since he took office in February, particularly due to sightings of bruised hands and speculation about potential dementia.
During a three-hour visit to the Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland, Trump underwent a planned follow-up evaluation. In a statement released on Friday night, Navy Captain Sean Barbabella confirmed that President Trump is in excellent health, displaying robust cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical capabilities.
In addition to the evaluation, Trump received a Covid-19 booster shot and his yearly flu vaccine. Barbabella noted that Trump’s cardiac age is approximately 14 years younger than his actual age of 79.
The examination was intended to prepare Trump for upcoming international trips to the Middle East and Asia. Various tests were conducted, including advanced imaging, lab work, and preventive health assessments.
Although the White House labeled the visit as a routine yearly checkup, Trump had already undergone his annual examination in April. The results indicated that he was fully fit to continue serving as President.
Barbabella, who also conducted the April assessment, revealed that Trump had shed 20 pounds since his previous physical five years ago. He emphasized Trump’s active lifestyle as a significant contributor to his overall well-being.
During the April evaluation, Trump’s cognitive functions were assessed and found to be satisfactory. While Presidents have the right to withhold health details, Trump’s April report offered extensive information on various health metrics, including weight, body mass index, surgeries, mental health screenings, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure.
Furthermore, recent speculation about Trump’s health emerged after he did not appear visually during a CNN interview. Instead, the President, aged 79, provided his responses via text before the broadcast, discussing his goals for peace in the Gaza-Israel conflict and his stance on dealing with Hamas.
