Classes at multiple universities across the United States were disrupted as bomb threats forced evacuations. Towson University, Morgan State University, Case Western Reserve University, Nazareth University, Alabama A&M University, and the Elvey Building at the University of Alaska Fairbanks were all targeted. Towson University Police Department issued an emergency alert regarding the bomb threat specifically aimed at the University Union, urging immediate evacuation. Law enforcement emphasized the seriousness of the situation and advised everyone to steer clear of the University Union premises.
Law enforcement presence was visible outside Towson University’s student union, with a security cordon set up in the vicinity. Maryland Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth expressed concern over the threats at Towson and Morgan State universities, urging adherence to law enforcement directives and emphasizing the importance of ensuring student safety on campus.
Alabama A&M University and Delaware State University also faced bomb threats, leading to evacuations and disruptions to academic activities. Nazareth University in upstate New York and the University of Alaska Fairbanks reported similar incidents, with authorities responding promptly to assess the threats and ensure the safety of students and staff.
Additional bomb threat incidents were reported at Prairie View A&M University in Texas and Lone Star College University Park, although police later cleared the areas following thorough investigations. Case Western Reserve University in Ohio also evacuated buildings near the Cleveland Institute of Art due to a bomb threat, underlining the widespread impact of these disruptions on academic institutions.
