Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors alleging fraud for not meeting obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup. The investors put in close to $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, which was established in 2021 with a goal to enhance users’ “mental fitness,” as per the lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware.
The investors claim they were assured that Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, would actively participate in the company’s growth as the marketing head. However, they argue that Gomez and other company executives failed to fulfill commitments, such as launching a mobile app.
The lawsuit states, “Gomez supposedly agreed to a contract to fulfill her duties but neglected to do so.” The plaintiffs assert that the company did not have a viable business plan and failed to meet fundamental obligations like timely payments to employees and vendors.
A spokesperson for Gomez did not provide an immediate response to the request for comment. The lawsuit reveals that the investors only became aware of the company’s issues after an online news article exposed them in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking reimbursement of their investments along with legal costs.
