A tragic incident occurred at Disney World as a guest was found dead in what appears to be a suicide near one of the popular hotels within the theme park premises. The body of the visitor was located close to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, one of the many hotels situated within the expansive Orlando site. Witnesses reported that the individual had jumped from a platform onto the monorail track, as per earlier accounts. Initial social media posts suggested that the guest had been struck by the resort’s monorail, but a police spokesperson dismissed this as misinformation.
Confirming the incident, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated it was an apparent suicide, as reported by the Mirror US. An ongoing investigation is being conducted into the matter. The Contemporary Resort is recognized for its monorail track that passes through the hotel’s distinctive A-frame structure, according to EW.
The discovery of the body was made around 6:40 pm along North World Drive, as indicated by News 6 Click Orlando. Subsequently, the monorail service through the building was temporarily halted. Authorities have refrained from disclosing further details due to the sensitive nature of the case.

The Disney World website outlines three separate lines that traverse the park. In a separate incident at Disneyland, a woman in her 60s tragically passed away last week after experiencing the Haunted Mansion attraction in California. Following transportation to a local hospital, she was later pronounced deceased, as confirmed by a representative from the Anaheim Police Department to Entertainment Weekly. The Haunted Mansion, a beloved attraction at Disney parks, made its debut in 1969 within the New Orleans Square section of the park.
Moreover, it holds significance as one of the last attractions that Walt Disney had a hand in creating before his passing in 1966, three years prior to the ride’s opening.
