Anthony Joshua has successfully met the weight requirement for his upcoming bout against Jake Paul, accomplishing this two weeks ahead of schedule. The former two-time heavyweight champion has been inactive since his defeat to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, recovering from injuries sustained during that match.

After undergoing elbow surgery and resuming training, Joshua is anticipated to have a straightforward victory over the boxing novice Paul in their professional heavyweight clash scheduled for December 19 in Miami. The bout will consist of eight three-minute rounds, with both fighters using 10oz gloves.

Despite initial concerns about Joshua having to shed excess weight to meet the 245lb limit, the British boxer revealed his current weight of 111kg (244.7Ib) with over two weeks remaining until the fight. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, expressed confidence in Joshua’s readiness for the match, emphasizing his dedication and top physical condition.

A victory in this upcoming fight would boost Joshua’s confidence as he eyes a significant year in 2026, potentially culminating in a summer showdown with Tyson Fury. Saudi boxing official Turki Alalshikh hinted at major boxing events involving Joshua in London next year, including a possible monumental fight in September.

The anticipated clash between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul in Miami on December 19, just before Christmas, is set to be broadcast live on Netflix. The fight is expected to commence around 11pm local time, catering to the American audience, with potential timing adjustments based on the undercard duration.
