Jeff Brazier has expressed heartfelt praise for Love Island stars Nathan Massey and Cara Delahoyde, commending their supportive relationship with his youngest son, Freddy. In an emotional Instagram post, Brazier, 45, conveyed his gratitude for the couple’s kindness towards Freddy during their joint family holiday in Portugal.
The TV presenter wrote: “Can’t stop thanking @nathanmassey_ and @cara_delahoyde. We talked about Role Models on Loose Men last week and my Freddy has certainly found two in you guys.”
Brazier noted that Nathan had formed a special bond with Freddy, 20, encouraging him to engage in physical activities like running and going to the gym.
He added: “Nathan had such a special connection with Fred and even got him out running & in the gym, something I’d never been able to do! More than that though, you really looked out for him on our little Portuguese adventure, he is so inspired by you and I’ve seen him grow so much in the time you spent with him.”
Brazier continued to praise Nathan’s positive influence on young men, stating: “Nath, if what I have just seen is anything to go by, you’re a wonderful mentor to young men. Your Fred & Pinkie are so loveable & charismatic too, you’re both such amazing parents and wonderful company. So grateful to have met you all properly”.
In a touching display of kinship, Jeff’s son took to social media to express his fondness for Freddy Brazier, proclaiming: “Beautiful words from a beautiful man! Honestly was a pleasure looking after my new best mate @freddybrazier”.
Alongside the message, he posted endearing photographs of Freddy with his kids and footage of both taking a refreshing plunge in the sea after a 5km run.
Jeff, who fathered both Freddy, 20, and Strictly star Bobby, 21, with the much-missed Jade Goody, who passed away from cervical cancer in 2009 at the tender age of 27, is reportedly seeking legal means to guard his son from contact with Jade’s mum due to concerns about his well-being. Known barristers have been commissioned by Jeff for a forthcoming court date escalating what appears to be an ongoing dispute with Jackiey.
His statement comes after it was revealed that Jeff has launched legal action to stop Freddy seeing his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden. It’s reported that the concerned dad wants to block the pair having any contact, claiming the relationship has been ‘incredibly detrimental’.
In 2021, Bobby confirmed in an Instagram video that he was back in contact with his nan after losing touch. He said: ‘I didn’t see her for ages – for way too long – but I went to see her twice recently. And honestly if there’s one woman you shouldn’t underestimate it’s my nan. Honestly, she’s like a wizard! It’s nuts.”
Various videos of Freddy hanging out with Jackiey, 68, have appeared on TikTok showing the pair laughing together. Friends of the family say Jeff and Jackiey fell out some time ago and never repaired their relationship.
Jackiey was banned from attending Strictly Come Dancing when Bobby reached the final. She later called Jeff a ‘c**k’ after Bobby praised him during his National Television Awards speech.
According to a source, Jeff has hired a barrister and is preparing for a court hearing, as he believes that Jackiey’s influence is having a negative impact on Freddie. The insider stated: “This is something Jeff and anyone who cares about Freddy hopes will help keep him safe from a relationship that has been incredibly detrimental to his wellbeing for a long time now. The fact that Jeff is going down this route shows how concerned we all are, and how our efforts to keep Fred safe are being grossly undermined by other people. ”.
In conversation with MailOnline at her home in Bermondsey, Jackiey endeavoured to dismiss the legal friction commenting, “I know what this is all about. It (the situation with Jeff) doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter.”
Despite the tensions, Jackiey conveyed her desire to remain close to Freddy, stating, “Do I want to see Freddy? Of course I do. I see Freddy all of the time. I will see him.”
A sympathetic neighbour shared their concern: “I feel sorry for Jackiey. She’s been through so much. It’s a complex situation. I just hope they can be all together again as a family. Her grandchildren mean the world to her. How did it come to this that lawyers are apparently involved? She wants to be the best gran she can be to those boys.”
The latest development came on Sunday with news that Jeff has initiated legal proceedings.
