Soap fans have plenty of drama coming up next week across Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street.
There’s all kinds of chaos according to spoilers for the week ahead, which detail twists and turns aplenty. There’s some key plots unfolding across all three shows.
On Corrie fans will see the return of a villain, leaving one resident reeling. As the returning character comes face-to-face with their daughter, what will go down?
On Emmerdale fans can expect the moment John Sugden is exposed for one of his lies. Not only that, but another resident makes a bombshell discovery leading to a confrontation – but will they be left in danger?
Finally over in Walford, and one BBC soap legend comes to an upsetting decision amid a health diagnosis. The choice leads to them making a plan to exit Albert Square. Here’s the biggest moments of the week ahead.
The big story of the week for EastEnders is a sad confession by Nigel Bates, following his dementia diagnosis. The Walford favourite feels suffocated as Phil Mitchell continues to be overprotective with him in upcoming episodes.
He sees an opportunity to prove himself only to have a falling out with Harvey Monroe after he gets confused. It leads to questions being raised about his wellbeing, leading to Phil revealing all about his dementia diagnosis.
But there’s a concerning discovery in the fallout, when Phil realises his friend intends to end his own life if his memory continues to deteriorate. Phil confronts Nigel about it, and Nigel does his best to explain his reasons.
Phil ends up leaving though and refuses to listen. When Jean Slater arrives to speak with Nigel, the pair have a heart-to-heart about his dementia.
Meanwhile Phil seeks out Linda Carter to share his concerns, while she encourages him to support Nigel through his diagnosis. Soon Phil decides to head home and make amends with Nigel only to find his goodbye letter.
What he doesn’t know is Nigel is planning on fleeing Walford, leading to a search for the missing character when Phil cannot find him. His fears are raised when it’s revealed no one has seen him, but the panic is over when Phil tracks him down.
The pair make amends and Nigel agrees to return home. He soon breaks down though as he insists he wants to end his life before the dementia takes hold. Phil tries to discourage Nigel from the sad decision but to no avail. He later comes up with a plan though when he’s given food for thought.
A villain makes his return to Coronation Street next week, three years on from his dark debut on the ITV soap. The show has confirmed the sinister character is back onscreen in a matter of days, with one actor reprising the role after a year. He only appeared briefly a year ago, while he debuted on the show in 2022.
But next week he’s back and it certainly leaves one resident reeling. Spoilers have confirmed that Lauren Bolton’s father Reece Bolton, played by actor Scott Anson, is back on the show next week.
Details surrounding his stint have been kept under wraps but it seems he wants to make contact with Lauren, using her baby son Frankie to do so. With Frankie still in hospital after a health scare, Lauren is shocked to receive a mystery package for the tot next week.
She soon realises who it is from and visits her estranged father in prison. The pair come face-to-face after two years, and it’s clear she isn’t happy to see him. But what does Reece want from his daughter, and how long will he be sticking around for?
John Sugden is confronted next week as the truth about Aidan Moore looks set to be revealed next week. John’s sister Victoria Sugden makes a huge discovery and finds out her brother has been lying about his past.
After trying to track down some of John’s old army pals for his wedding to Aaron Dingle, Victoria meets soldier Connor. But Connor soon drops the shocking news to Victoria that Aidan is still alive, despite her being told Aidan had died a long time ago.
Connor then tells her what happened when they were all serving in Afghanistan, while he explains that Aidan is in a coma in a hospital in Leeds. Deciding to pay him a visit, a stunned Victoria enters Aidan’s hospital room before quickly leaving.
She’s left shaken by what she has found out knowing what John said was all a lie. She soon confronts her brother admitting she knows all about Aidan, leaving him agitated and panicked as she berates him over it. But is Victoria in danger, and how will John get himself out of this one?
