Celebrity Big Brother star JoJo Siwa’s partner Kath Ebbs’ comments on cheating in a recent podcast have resurfaced as JoJo’s bond to Chris Hughes blossoms in the house.
The 21 year old Dance Moms star entered the Celebrity Big Brother house earlier this month and has struck up a strong connection with former Love Islander Chris, 32. The entertainer, who described herself as gay in a recent interview, has been seen getting very tactile with Chris in the house – despite her relationship with non-binary Australian star Kath, 27.
Viewers of the ITV reality show have been debating the capacity of Karma singer JoJo’s relationship with Chris – with some deeming it flirtatious while others have insisted the bond is purely platonic. Since JoJo’s antics have been aired on the series, Kath has remained largely silent on social media – despite Kath being vocal against Mickey Rourke’s behaviour towards JoJo at the beginning of the series.
Fans have been trawling Kath’s social media pages to determine how they might feel about JoJo’s bond with Chris and resurfaced a video shared on their TikTok page, which some say hasn’t ‘aged well’. In the resurfaced video, Kath – who has been spotted looking downcast recently – discusses cheating in a clip from their podcast chat on their podcast I’ve Always Said That.
In the clip, which has the caption Is cheating a deal breaker on, Kath laments: “I think the key is just to like, we all just need to be a bit more honest with each other. Because, I think, what gets me about the whole very hetro, monogamous, definition of cheating or the things that people get p**sed off about is it feels like there’s this holding on to feeling like you have a sense of control or feeling like this part of you dies in a relationship and you, all of a sudden, can’t be attracted to anyone and you can’t be affectionate with people and you can’t be friends with people you’re attracted to potentially.
“I really reject that because I think what’s underneath that is actually a fear of what we’re talking about and I think, instead, just embrace that fear, like, ‘this is something that I’m scared of because I know that you love me and you want to be with me and you’re choosing me but that doesn’t mean you’re not going to walk down the street and find that other chick attractive’. And that scares me. So let’s talk about that fear rather than pretend it doesn’t exist and then it festers and then you cheat because, statistically, a lot of people f**king cheat.”
Fans who have resurfaced the video have commented on the TikTok post following JoJo’s appearance on the Celebrity Big Brother house, one asked: “what about if she cheats with a fella?” Another remarked: “This didn’t age well huh” while a third said: “So u ok with jojo and Chris?”
It comes as JoJo and Chris’ bond in the Celebrity Big Brother house has garnered a lot of attention from fans on social media. The paid have been seen getting touchy-feely recently, as they cuddle in bed while Chris even revealed he has saved a spot on his back for JoJo to pop.
Their bond has divided viewers online as one said: “anyone else love jojo and Chris but want them to stop hugging and touching eachother ALL THE TIME #CelebrityBigBrother #CBBUK”. Another added: “#CBBUK chris is a complete game player who knows exactly what he is doing to get screen time. Show~mance, bro~mance, be annoying, cause arguements. Tick,tick, tick. He is using JoJo. It’s all a strategy& the more it’s happening the less likable he is.”
A third lamented: “there used to be a time when a sexually charged friendship between chris hughes and jojo siwa was inconceivable to me … what has this world become”.
Meanwhile, Chris’ brother appeared on the Celebrity Big Brother spin-off, Late and Live, to defend his bond with JoJo. Chris’ brother said the Love Island star and the Dance Moms icon simply have the ‘same energy’, which explains why they became inseparable since the show started earlier this month. He said: “I believe the friendship between Chris and JoJo is based on the fact they have similar energy and have obviously bonded really well as a friendship.”
When probed by host AJ Odudu, Ben continued: “I think JoJo confided a few of her secrets in Chris because she can see what kind of person he is and he’s literally like this outside of the house as well.
“He’s got loads of friendships like that,” before revealed Chris even gets back scratches from Ben’s partner, Olivia. When people claimed the affection was weird, he said: “Is it weird?”
