Emmerdale fans ‘rumble’ when Aidan will wake up as John’s downfall ‘imminent’

Must read

There could be a downfall on the cards on Emmerdale with fans convinced Aidan Moore will wake from his coma very soon.

We finally found out the identity of the man in hospital that John Sugden had been visiting. Not only that but we learned John was in fact really John, after fans predicted he was lying about his true identity.

The man in the bed is Aidan, with John visiting him in secret. He spoke with Aidan’s mother Cathleen at the hospital and she called him John, appearing to rule out the fan theory that John was actually someone else.

But in a twist as Aidan’s identity was revealed, it was hinted John was involved in the incident that left him in the coma. Fans will recall that months ago John claimed to sister Victoria Sugden and his now fiancé Aaron Dingle that Aidan was someone he knew from the army who was injured and died.

He claimed he was left guilty because he could not save him. But this week we found out that Aidan wasn’t really dead and was in a coma in a hospital in Leeds. We also learned more about what went on with John and Aidan too, with fans now convinced John did something to him.

With it revealed that John has some sort of saviour complex which sees him leaving people in danger to be able to save them, we now know John accidentally killed Nate Robinson. Just recently he caused Jacob Gallagher to have an allergic reaction on purpose so that he could once again be the hero.

Flashbacks revealed he injected Nate with something to then bring him back to life only to kill him. In a scene with Aidan on Thursday John said something, referencing Jacob, that could have hinted something similar happened to Aidan.

Now, fans are convinced Aidan will wake from his coma despite John claiming he never will. Cathleen was heard saying it was only a matter of time until he regained consciousness.

But John later spoke to Aidan and made it clear that he would never wake up – while he told Cathleen that Aidan could hear them talking. Now fans are sure that John is wrong, and that Aidan will end up waking from his coma to expose him.

Not only that but they think Aidan will wake up around the time of John’s wedding to Aaron, and he could show up. Aidan is tipped to be John’s looming downfall, with fans convinced the comments from both John and Cathleen foreshadowed he would wake up soon.

John claimed Aidan was “stuck” and “locked in for eternity” and said: “As if that’s going to happen” regarding Cathleen’s claim he’d wake up. He said he wasn’t able to save Aidan, and that he tried his best and he blames himself for what happened. He told him he’d never be visiting him again as his life has changed for the better, slamming him for making him feel like second best.

One fan said on social media: “Yup he is Aidan and he’s going to wake up.” Another said: “Aidan is definitely gatecrashing John and Aaron’s wedding,” as a third added: “Waiting for Aiden to suddenly wake up….because he’s going to, isn’t he?”

Another fans aid: “Oh I bet Aiden is going to wake up just before the wedding. Will John kill again.” A further comment read: “I’m guessing he will wake up sometime near the wedding,” while another said: “Come on Aiden it’s time to wake up and tell us your side of John’s story.”
