Morrisons shoppers should be aware that its opening times will be a little different this Easter weekend. There are two bank holidays coming up – the first is Good Friday on April 18, then the second is Easter Monday on April 21.
If you’re a Morrisons shopper, the majority of its larger stores will be open from 7am until 10pm on Good Friday, then on Easter Saturday, most bigger branches will welcome customers from 6am until 10pm. Trading rules in England and Wales mean large shops over 280 square meters are required by law to close on Easter Sunday.
This means all larger Morrisons stores in England and Wales will be shut on Easter Sunday. Smaller shops can stay open, which means Morrisons Daily convenience stores will be open for business on Easter Sunday. When we checked online today, most Morrisons Daily branches open at 6am or 7am and close at 10pm or 11pm.

Some stores have shorter opening times – for example, the Morrisons Daily Blean branch is open each day from 8am until 8pm. Scotland has different trading rules which mean all stores are allowed to stay open on Easter Sunday, regardless of their size. Most larger Morrisons stores in Scotland will be open from 8am until 8pm on Easter Sunday.
Then on Easter Monday, most larger stores will be open from 7am to 8pm, although again, some more open slightly earlier or later – for example, the Morrisons Livingston branch will be open from 6am to 10pm. As opening times do vary, check the Morrisons store finder tool online to see when your local branch will be open.
It comes as Morrisons closes 16 of its smaller Daily stores today. The supermarket giant announced last month it was planning to shut down 52 of its in-store cafes and 17 of its smaller outlets as part of a significant revamp. All but one of these smaller stores have now shut.
In addition, Morrisons said it would also shut down several of its hot food counters, meat counters, fish counters, florists, and pharmacies across its supermarket store estate.
