Celebrity Big Brother fans reckon ITV cut footage from the explosive fight with Mickey Rourke and Chris Hughes on the weekend. Former boxer, Mickey, 72, was given his marching orders by show bosses after squaring up to the Love Island star, 32, and calling him a “c**t”.
Viewers were shown the confrontation on Sunday night’s episode in which Mickey – dressed as a pirate – accused Chris of giving him the “side eye” before threatening to knock him out. Fans were shocked by the fiery scenes, but some think the showdown was edited by ITV, with several taking to social media to share their theory.
Posting on Reddit, one viewer said: “Feels like that whole Mickey Chris argument had a lot of missing context with tons edited out.”
Another agreed, asking: That’s it? I would have liked to have seen more. It felt like we didn’t see the whole dialogue and build up. Feels like we’ve missed out on some context there.” A third posted: “I agree. I couldn’t work out what was going on.”
Meanwhile, a fourth brought up Mickey’s vile comment to Ella Rae Wise, which left the TOWIE star in tears. Suggesting he had said more to the reality star, they replied: “Oh yessss… very much so. But obviously they had an hour to squeeze in the jist of it.
“They did leave out all his other vile comments to Ella because said they just aired ONE, but said he said inappropriate and unacceptable COMMENTS to her.”
While some fans were convinced Mickey’s misdemeanours had been edited, others were adamant they had been aired in full and this is why the housemates were so shocked.
Mickey’s Celebrity Big Brother journey was fraught with inappropriate behaviour from the get-go. His touchy-feely interview with host, AJ Odudu, when he entered the house appalled viewers – but there was much more to come.
Uncomfortable scenes then showed him using homophobic slurs and antagonising singer JoJo Siwa, who is lesbian, over her sexuality. He was later reprimanded for using a gay slur and for making offensive comments about JoJo’s sexual preferences.
He later left comedian Donna Preston upset when he appeared to make a comment about her weight. And later still, he reduced EastEnders icon Patsy Palmer to tears when he criticised her cooking skills. Then he made a sexual slur against Ella before squaring up to Chris and calling him a c**t before being hauled into the Diary Room.
Apologising for his actions when he was given his marching orders from the house, Mickey admitted he’d been trying to control his temper his whole life, conceding: “I blame myself, I know it was my bad.
“You know, I’ve got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there, you know. And I’m sorry for that. I’m actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot. I went over the line, you know, I did wrong.”
