Celebrity Big Brother fans spot major show change during first live eviction

Must read

As eagle-eyed Celebrity Big Brother fans witnessed the first eviction of the latest series last week, it wasn’t just MP Michael Fabricant’s exit that became a talking point. In addition to the public voting him off the ITV show, fans also noticed that the Conservative MP had his exit interview with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best during the main show.

In previous series, the exit interview was conducted during the spin-off show Late & Live but bosses have clearly had a major format shake-up.

Michael was nominated for eviction by his housemates along with Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke and Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd. And due to an overwhelming public vote, Michael became the first housemate to leave the show.

This year’s line-up includes legendary EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer, presenter Angelica Bell, former Love Island star Chris Hughes, TOWIE favourite Ella-Rae Wise and Trisha Goddard.

Taking to X on noticing the change in the show’s format, one fan wrote: “Eviction interviews are back on the main show, on ITV1, outside the house with the main show audience!” Another chimed: “It was an extremely good decision to bring back the Eviction interviews to the Main Show. Having a freshly evicted housemates first interview on a side show was so stupid. #CBB #CBBUK.”

When asked how he was feeling, Michael opened up on how sad he was to leave the house. He told AJ and Will: “I’m very sad to say goodbye to all my friends.”

During his time on the show, Michael and Trisha locked horns when the subject of politics arose. And it doesn’t look as though things have thawed between the two – well certainly not for Michael, as he said during his interview: “Trisha has an agenda. I think Trisha understands how politics is a broad thing and you can be a left wing Conservative and a right wing Labour guy. They actually overlap. I think she was maybe was a little bit stereotyping.”

He added: “What didn’t help was my friend Chesney said, ‘Let’s talk about immigration’. That was not my plan to do at all. I think only one person took it too seriously.” Trisha had accused the MP of being “Islamophobic” following a speech he made during a task.

But Trisha was not the only housemate to ruffle his feathers. So too did actress Patsy Palmer. Their feud erupted in the house when the BBC star asked him why he wore a wig.

Days before his eviction, Patsy asked him about his choice of head wear. But instead of being open and honest, Michael was reluctant to answer the question.

Explaining his feelings during nominations, he told Big Brother that he was nominating Patsy for questioning about his hair.

He said: “I really have found this very hard but I’m going to nominate Patsy. She asked me something about ‘why do I wear a wig’ and you know, I’m not saying it is a wig, actually, but what I am saying is I found it slightly awkward being asked about it.”

He admitted: “I just don’t like my hair being raised. People have, you know, sensitivities and that’s my sensitivity. Look, we’re all human. I’m more human than most.”
