Mickey Rourke has caused scandal ever since he stepped foot in to the Celebrity Big Brother house amid calls for him to leave the show, yet he has the support of one ITV star. The Hollywood actor was even issued a formal warning about his behaviour following a vile homophobic slur made towards JoJo Siwa.
He shocked fans when he made a very uncomfortable entrance into the house on Monday night as he appeared to grab onto host AJ Odudu. While former Dance Moms star JoJo was left in tears by Mickey’s comment about her sexuality towards her during Wednesday’s episode.
He was hit with a formal warning from show bosses, which many viewers branded his warning not strong enough and urged for him to be kicked off the show. In the same episode, Mickey was also caught making a ‘fat shaming’ comment to comedian and actress Donna Preston.
While she was wearing an LED face mask and lying on his bed, Mickey asked if she had been seeing any results. He told her: “You’d probably be better off running round the block for ten minutes.”
Donna said: “I’ve got to try something. I’m getting a little turkey neck,” before Mickey added: “It comes with the territory.” Visibly confused she asked: “What, life?” as Mickey replied: “Yeah. It’s like they say, you are what you eat.”
Donna, as well as viewers, were shocked by the comment as well as Mickey’s behaviour in the house. However, Mickey has received support from Real Housewives of Cheshire star Leilani Dowding, who recalled her own encounter with the star.
Giving her own verdict, she said: “What’s the problem with Mickey Rouke telling a fat person ‘they are what they eat’. And talking about exercise.. He’s right. The JoJo joke was pretty gross…..”
Leilani recalled meeting Mickey as she added on X: “Had the nicest experience of him when I met him… Back in LA he was friends with my ex hub.. My little Dog. D.O.G was just a puppy.
“I let him go in a restaurant thinking he’d run to my ex, but he ran up to Mickey jumped on his lap and started licking the foam off Mickeys cappuccino!! I was mortified but Mickey said no worries and picked it up and drank it…. I would trust people who love dogs like that more than most..”
Mickey has bagged the highest pay cheque out of all the housemates for appearing on the show, according to reports. He’s set to pocket a staggering £500,000 for his time.
In the shocking homophobic moment from earlier in the week, Mickey asked JoJo: “Do you like girls or boys?” After revealing that her partner is non-binary, Mickey responded: “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.”
He later asked Chris Hughes if everyone has to vote one another out of the house. Mickey said: “I’m going to vote the lesbian out real quick.” JoJo, who overhears, told him: “That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning,” while Chris told Mickey he can’t say that.
After asking JoJo where the smoking area is, Mickey exclaimed: “I need a fag.” He then gestured to JoJo and said: “I’m not talking to you.” The moment left JoJo in tears, while Chris comforted her.
Shortly after the remark, Mickey was called to the Diary Room by Big Brother, and given a stern warning. JoJo was able to get her ultimate revenge, however, as she put Mickey up for eviction alongside Michael Fabricant and Jack P Shepherd.
