Former Disney star Bella Thorne has accused Mickey Rourke of “bruising her genitals” during the filming of 2020 revenge thriller Girl, adding that working with his was “one of the all time worst experiences of my life”. Bella, 27, opened up about her working relationship with Mickey in an Instagram story following his homophobia scandal on Celebrity Big Brother, which resulted in the show issuing him a formal warning this week.
Sharing a screenshot of an article about Mickey’s homophobic remarks towards fellow housemate JoJo Siwa, Bella wrote: “This f**king dude. GROSS. I had to work with this man – in a scene where I’m on my knees with my hands zip tied around my back.
“He’s supposed to take a metal grinder to my knee cap and instead he used it on my genitals thru my jeans. Hitting them over and over again. I had bruises on my pelvic bone – Working with Mickey was one of the all time worst experiences of my life working as an actress.”
She later added in a separate post that she had “so many gross stories” about working with him on the film. “Including in his last scene to speed up and rev his engine so he could cover me completely in dirt,” she said. “Idk I guess he thought it was funny to humiliate me in front of the entire crew.
“Having to go in his trailer absolutely alone because he refused to speak to the director or producers – so I had to convince him to show up and complete his job, as he shouted crazy demands that he wanted from the producers.”
Bella added that she felt “uncomfortable” in his trailer by herself but had to beg him to finish the film. “I did what I was asked to do and what was best for the movie,” she said. “Mickey should’ve never put anybody in that movie in any of those positions that he did.”
A spokesperson for Mickey Rourke has told The Mirror: “We are aware of the recent article regarding an alleged incident involving Mr. Mickey Rourke during the filming of Celebrity Big Brother. While we fully respect the right of any individual to speak about their experiences, we must be clear: at no point has Mr. Rourke been made aware of any complaint, formal or informal, concerning the incident described.
“Mr. Rourke has always conducted himself professionally on set and is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful working environment for all cast and crew. Out of respect for everyone involved, and due to the sensitive nature of the matter, we will not be commenting further at this time.
“Any questions regarding on-set safety protocols or production matters should be directed to the producers of Celebrity Big Brother.”
The 2020 film stars Bella as a young woman who returns to her hometown to kill her abusive father, who she later discovers has already been murdered. CBB star Mickey played the role of a local sheriff in the film, which received mixed reviews from critics.
American actress Bella is best known for playing CeCe Jones on the Disney show Shake It Up before appearing in films Blended, The Babysitter, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Trip and The DUFF. She recently took on a role in an episode of American Horror Stories and competed on the American version of The Masked Singer in 2020.
Mickey entered the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday but became embroiled in controversy after receiving a formal warning from the show over offensive remarks made towards JoJo Siwa.
