Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed that the club are investigating a mole who’s been leaking sensitive information throughout the season. Postecoglou confirmed ahead of Sunday’s trip to Wolves that he and club chiefs have ‘narrowed it down’ as they bid to uncover the leaker.
The Spurs boss hit out after it was reported in the build-up to their Europa League quarter-final first leg against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday that forward Wilson Odobert had suffered another hamstring injury. Odobert, 20, ended up being an unused substitute during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw at home.
Postecoglou believes there’s ‘no doubt’ that Spurs have a mole, questioning their motives. “Look, there is no doubt we have got a leak inside the club; somebody who continues to leak out information,” the Tottenham manager told reporters. “They have all year. I don’t know why.
“It doesn’t help us. It just makes our job more difficult. We try really hard to keep things in-house like all clubs because we don’t want on game-day opposition being aware of any sort of team selection, but we’ve got somebody within our camp who continually gives out information.
“We’ve narrowed it down, we’ve been looking at it for quite a while and kind of have a fair idea of where it is coming from. We’ll deal with it but it’s not helpful for us and half of it is misinformation, half of it is half of the information but irrespectively, it certainly doesn’t help our cause because on game-day what you want to try and do is keep as much information in-house.
“We try really hard to find out information about the opposition and very hard to, but with us, someone has an open line to what we do. It’s disappointing because you’d like to think everyone who is in our camp is working with us, not against us.”
Postecoglou also said that Frenchman Odobert was fine and trained with the squad on Friday, as Spurs – who remain 14th in the table – prepare for their Premier League return. “He’s okay,” Postecoglou added. “With all the players who came back from long-term injury we’ve taken a different approach.
“All these guys who have come back. Wilson trained today and we’ll see how he is.”

He also had good news regarding winger Dejan Kulusevski, who won’t be ready to face Wolves but is in contention to return for next Thursday’s second leg in Germany. “Kulusevski has trained today with the players who didn’t play last night,” Postecoglou confirmed.
“He looked really good. He’s not available this weekend and he won’t start on Thursday because he’s been out for so long but he’s looking good.”
