A schoolgirl, aged just 15, who “stabbed her abusive father to death” over his gambling addiction has been spared prison. The girl, named Alisa, ambushed her dad from behind and lunged a knife twice into his neck, state investigators in Russia have revealed.
Police said they believe the young teenager could have killed her father, Roman Z, 42, in a desperate attempt to save her older sister from a ruthless attack from their “addict” dad. Roman, who has a criminal record for drug possession and attacking a police officer, allegedly attacked his older daughter after attempting to force her to take out a loan for his debts.
The security guard father’s bloodied dead body was seen by police at the family’s flat in Moscow. Roman was reportedly deep in debts and flipped against his medical student daughter Maryana, 20, after she refused to take out a loan for him.
Local Russia media reported that the father said he would “drag her to the bank if she did not go herself”. It added: “When the student refused again, the father punched her in the cheek, and then ran to the kitchen for a small knife and began to swing at her, but only managed to cut her hand.”
The 15-year-old told police she desperately acted to defend her sister and save her life from the gamblers vicious outburst by running to the kitchen and picking up a knife.
Alisa reportedly pounced on her father and attacked him when he started dragging the 20-year-old by her hair. She reportedly slashed the gambler in the neck so he would let go of Maryana.
The father allegedly fell after this but did not give up his attack as he tried to jump on his daughters. His widow, a dental nurse, was said to be in “shock” after the horror unfolded.
Roman reportedly had a history of “humiliating” and “beating” his daughters and the sisters were previously too scared to go to the police, according to the Russia news outlet Readovka.
The outlet added: “Their father told them that it was useless anyway and that they would get even worse from him.”
Although the 15-year-old was initially spared custody pending a trial, the court could reverse this decision. Investigators have also ordered a post mortem psychiatric test into the “gambler” dad.
This has not been the first time a daughter has killed their dad in Russia. Mikhail Khachaturyan, 57, was stabbed by his three daughters in 2018.
Krestina, Angelina and Maria Khachaturyan, then 19, 18 and 17, admitted killing the “tyrant” but claimed he was a sick paedophile who subjected them to abuse and rape. The girls are said to have stabbed him to death with his own hunting knife.
