Boden shirt so ‘pretty’ wearers ‘stopped by strangers’ for compliments

Must read

Shoppers have been heaping praise on a ‘beautiful’ blouse from high street retailer Boden. The celeb-loved brand is known for its classic silhouettes and bright, playful prints, with one of its shirts being so popular, fashion fans are buying it in multiple designs.

The retailer, worn regularly by the likes of Cat Deeley, Susanna Reid and Amanda Holden, is offering 15% off new season essentials, including the coveted Marina Jersey Shirt. Usually £52 at full price, it goes down to £44.20 when using the code NB7C at the checkout.

Made of smooth 100% cotton, the Marina Jersey Shirt is a dream for those balmy days, boasting cooling and spongy features. Cut for a comfy straight fit, it’s jazzed up with subtle blouson sleeves and buttons down the middle.

Fans rave that it ‘washes well and barely needs ironing’, which is always a winner. Sizes range from 6 to 22, with the shirt racking up 4.7 out of five stars from over 30 glowing critiques, reports the Manchester Evening News.

One customer shared: “This is a really pretty shirt and can elevate a simple pair of trousers or jeans. It’s also very comfortable to wear, washes well and barely needs ironing.”

Another added: “My second Marina Shirt has arrived and I’m very pleased with it, no returns thank goodness. It’s a beautiful blue with white stamp details. Very well made, a perfect fit. I may get one of the embroidery ones they look good as well. Thanks Boden.”

“Wore this cutie for the first time today. Five different strangers stopped me to compliment it,” said a third. “I wore it with side stripe navy trousers for work, then switched to jeans for evening. As usual with Boden jersey, this top is very comfortable. The white is opaque enough that I didn’t feel I needed a camisole.”

However, not all feedback was glowing, as one shopper found fault with the Marina Jersey Shirt, leaving a two-star review: “The fabric felt good and the colour was pleasant. The pattern was just so-so. The fit was very strange – the seams where the sleeves attach to the bodice came in so far on my shoulders that it looked weird on me. I don’t think a larger size would help because then the bodice would be too billowy.”

But another customer was over the moon with their Boden buy, saying: “This is the second Marina Shirt that I have bought. Fits beautifully, lovely sleeves. Soft to the skin. Elegant. This colour is fabulous.”

Elsewhere, Marks and Spencer’s Pure Modal Floral Ruffle Blouse has been labelled as ‘in demand’ online. It costs £35 and is available in sizes six to 24. Or you can pick up the Shirred Tie Front Blouse in yellow and blue for £35.

At Nobody’s Child, the £68 Black Ditsy Floral Blouse is proving popular as sizes are quickly selling out. Or you can get the western-inspired Navy Floral Embroidered Collar Blouse while it’s on sale for £68 from £85.
