Celebrity Big Brother Mickey Rourke’s plan to be ‘reborn’ again like idol Mick Jagger

Must read

Mickey Rourke has revealed his wild plans to reinvent his life in the Celebrity Big Brother house. The Hollywood star didn’t win over many fans with his entrance, but he promises that a big change is coming.

Sin City star Mickey, 72, didn’t get off to the best start in the ITV show, and almost immediately faced calls for axing after his ‘inappropriate behaviour’ towards host AJ Odudu right as the show kicked off.

Just a couple of hours later, fans raged as he ‘broke rules’ by falling asleep when he and the other housemates were supposed to stay up to get to know each other on night one. If that weren’t enough, he also shocked fans at home and celebs in the house when his ‘disgusting’ kitchen habit was caught on air.

Mickey has now explained his surprising choice to enter CBB after his long acting career, sharing that his “career is in the toilet” and he had to choose between the reality show or “a really bad independent movie.”

But, according to Mickey, things might stay this way for long, and he’s planning to “take a breath” in the house to show that he’s changed – inspired by Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger.

Speaking to The Sun before starting the show, Mickey admitted that being live on screen would be a “challenge,” but he wanted to show that he was no longer “the guy that went out eight nights a week picking up supermodels.”

He added: “Look at the way Mick Jagger reinvented himself. Mick moves around like a teenager because he trains 45 minutes a day and he looks after himself proper. He’s a role model for me in that sense, absolutely. He’s had his hell-raising days and now he’s like a teenager again.”

Mickey also shared that he was inspired by friends he’s lost, which have made him rethink his own approach to life. “What I’m trying to do now is to make the fourth quarter. I want to have a good quality of life,” he said.

Mickey’s actor friend Val Kilmer died on April 1, and while Mickey said he was “glad he’s not suffering any more,” he admitted: “I think about my own mortality all the time…”

The Iron Man star is well known for his partying and womanising past, but said that he “rarely goes out now” and mused: “Life, age catches up to you. It makes you stop and think.”

As part of his master plan to reboot his life, boxing star Mickey did have one condition before entering the house for a rumoured £500,000 – a fully-decked out gym.

With his partying days over, Mickey now works out twice a day and only eats fish and vegetables in his quest to get moves like Jagger.
