Jack P Shepherd’s close pal Colson Smith revealed the advice that he gave the Celebrity Big Brother housemate. Colson divulged a vital piece of info he passed onto Jack – but couldn’t hide his annoyance that Jack didn’t acknowledge it.
Colson, 26, had his own Big Brother stint just before his Coronation Street co-star. The actor appeared on the ITV show in 2024, and managed to reach the final before snagging third place.
Despite how well Colson did on the show, it seems that Jack, 37, wasn’t all ears when he was handed some tips and tricks to make life easier for him in the house.
Colson chatted about Jack’s CBB experience so far while on Good Morning Britain today, and Ed Balls quickly asked whether he’d filled Jack in on the best “strategy” for the show.
“I’ve given him plenty of advice to be fair,” he admitted. “The main one was to go in and enjoy yourself, because you only get to do a show like this once, so go and make the most of it.”
Colson then fumed: “I did tell him to make sure he gets a bed, but he was the last one into the bedroom last night, so I don’t think he’s even listening!”
Ranvir Singh also asked whether he was competitive about how well Jack would do, with Colson joking: “I’ve told him he’s got third to beat, that’s what I’ve said. Don’t come back to the podcast unless you beat third, basically.”
Colson and Jack host their podcast On the Sofa alongside fellow Corrie star Ben Price, 53, and earlier this week released a “surprise” episode in which Jack revealed that producers had reached out to Colson ahead of the new series to ask him if he had any friends who would consider taking part.
Alongside sharing that he and Ben would be releasing daily podcasts to follow Jack’s progress in the house after he took up the offer, Colson gushed to his pal: “I’m proud. I’m excited. I’m well up for watching. Genuinely I’m really excited for you.”
Jack is reportedly earning £100,000 for his time on CBB, and an insider said the money was a big motivation for him to sign up considering a major milestone he has coming up this year.
The soap star got engaged to his partner Hanni Treweek last summer, while on a romantic holiday in Tanzania. It’s been rumoured that the couple aren’t waiting long to tie the knot, and are set to get married in July this year.
According to The Sun, Jack plans to use his CBB money to help pay for the wedding. A source told the outlet that the couple are “pulling out all the stops” for the upcoming nuptials.
They added that they want the wedding to be “perfect,” explaining: “Jack makes good money but it’s no secret that the CBB money is a draw for anyone, especially if you are planning a big event.”
