Emmerdale newcomer Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) was introduced as to “shake things up in the Dales” and he’s already done exactly that. However, it looks like his downfall could already be sealed – as Charity and Jacob team up against him.
Kammy made his first appearance last month after making his entrance after stealing a quad bike from Moira’s farm. He then became romantically involved with Sarah Sugden (Kate Hill), who was arrested last night for possession of stolen goods and locking Rodney in the back of a van.
On tonight’s episode, Kammy learnt of Sarah’s condition, Fanconi anaemia. Previously, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), had dumped Sarah due to her illness. Despite being the one to break things off, Jacob deeply regrets his decision and has been left jealous over her new relationship with Kammy.
To get his revenge, Jacob reported Cain’s stolen vehicle to the police thinking Kammy was the one driving, but in fact, it was Sarah. Unbeknownst to Jacob, Kammy had left Sarah to carry on alone after learning she robbed several supplies from Cain’s business.
In tonight’s episode, Sarah was released following further investigation – just before Kammy was about to take the wrap.
During emotional scenes, Kammy and Sarah had a heart to heart about her illness as he vowed not to let it get in the way of their relationship.
As Kammy learnt of Jacob’s reasoning for dumping Sarah, the pair came to blows yet again. Towards the end of the episode, Jacob told Sarah’s gran Charity Dingle that he wanted Sarah back.
“Maybe we can work together on this,” Charity responded. “Get him [Kammy] out of her life once and for all. At least that way you’ll stand a chance of winning her back.”
Fans are all for Sarah and Kammy, as one took to X, formerly known as Twitter to write: “Sarah and Kammy are so much better than Sarah and Jacob were #Emmerdale.”
Speaking on his new role, Shebz said: “I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better job – the character is such an exciting one to play and Kammy will definitely ruffle a few feathers, but he does have the gift of the gab so although he causes a lot of mischief, I think it will be hard not to like him!”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
