David Malukas set the pace during practice at the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy event in Markham by clocking the quickest lap time. Malukas recorded a time of 1:14.194 in the second practice session of the day, with qualifying scheduled for later in the evening.
Following Malukas, Alex Palou secured the second-best time with a lap time of 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger claimed the third position with a time of 1:14.592 around the Markham downtown road course.
The first day of track sessions had to be canceled by the organizers due to the incomplete status of the course and pending safety inspections. This year marks the debut of Markham as the host city for the race, previously held at Toronto’s Exhibition Place since its inception in 1986.
Earlier in the day, Palou had also topped the time charts during the first practice session with a time of 1:14.9915.
