150 corgis gathered in Vilnius for an international event celebrating the small herding dogs that originated in Wales. The fifth Corgi Race in Vilnius attracted dogs and owners from nine countries, making it the largest edition so far. Participants from various countries competed in different events, including a 25-meter race that crowned an American corgi named GG as the winner.
Organizer Edvinas Miskas highlighted the growth of the event, noting that from humble beginnings with 40 corgis, the race now boasts 150 participants from around the world. The event showcased not only the corgis’ speed but also their unique skills, such as the “smartest nose” challenge and the costume parade where creative outfits were displayed.
The competition featured various activities, including a costume parade, a search for hidden treats, and a contest for the loudest bark. Among the winners were corgis displaying original costumes and those with exceptional barking abilities. The event brought together corgi enthusiasts and showcased the talents of these beloved dogs, with participants from different countries adding to the international flair of the event.
