TV presenter John Torode was captured cooking a meal for his spouse Lisa Faulkner in a video she shared just before the finale of the latest season of MasterChef aired tonight. The episode revealed the show’s new champion on the BBC program.
Ahead of the finale broadcast, Lisa, 53, posted a video on her Instagram account showing John, 60, busy in the kitchen preparing a meal as the couple spent time together.
In the video, Lisa inquired about the dish being prepared, to which John mentioned he was making his version of pad thai, including crispy pork belly with chili sauce and seafood curry with rice.
Viewers got a glimpse of the dishes as John cooked, with Lisa expressing amazement at the food. She then shared affectionate words with her husband, saying “Love you,” to which John replied in kind.
The latest installment of MasterChef premiered last month with John and Gregg Wallace, 60, serving as judges. Gregg’s absence from recent episodes was noted, with reasons related to prior misconduct complaints.
Gregg Wallace’s departure from the show was announced last year following allegations of inappropriate behavior. An investigation by production company Banijay found his conduct to be untenable, leading to his exit. Gregg clarified that certain aspects of his behavior were regrettable but denied serious allegations.
Additionally, John’s contract for MasterChef was not renewed as a result of a racism-related accusation substantiated by an investigation. Despite denying the allegation, John stated that his future projects would not include MasterChef.
Recently, it was revealed that Grace Dent and Anna Haugh will take over hosting duties for the upcoming MasterChef series. Anna had already filled in for Gregg in the latest season, while Grace was introduced as a judge alongside John in the next Celebrity MasterChef series.
